Creating PDF Files from Windows Documents

PrimoPDF will help you create 'Print Ready' pdfs to supply to us from most Windows software documents, in which all fonts & images have been embedded. To download this printer driver please click on the link bellow and follow the installation instructions. The program is free to use and distribute and is completely safe to install.

Download Primo PDF for WindowsWe strongly recommend you use PrimoPDF when supplying files to us from Microsoft programs.

Example: Microsoft Word File without Bleed

If you do not have images that you would like to bleed off the page then please follow these instructions.

  1. Once you have your document ready, choose File then Print.No Bleed Step 1
  2. When the Print window appears, select the PrimoPDF printer from the list of available printers.No Bleed Step 2
  3. Click OK.

  4. In the PrimoPDF window that appears, enter a name and a location for the PDF file to be saved in. Make sure the Prepress icon is highlighted. Click Create PDF.No Bleed Step 4

Example: Microsoft Publisher File with Bleed

If you have images or a background colour that you would like to bleed off the page then please follow these instructions.

  1. Once you have your document ready, choose File then Print.

  2. When the Print window appears, select the PrimoPDF printer from the list of available printers.Bleed Step 2
  3. Select A3 from the list of available paper sizes.Bleed Step 3
  4. Select the Printer Details tab. Click on the Advanced Printer Setup button.Bleed Step 4
  5. In the Advanced Printer Setup window select the Page Settings tab. Under the heading Printer's marks, click on the Crop marks box. Under the Bleeds heading, click on both the Allow bleeds and Bleed marks boxes. Click OK.Bleed Step 5
  6. In the Print window click on the Print button.Bleed Step 6
  7. In the PrimoPDF window that appears, make sure the Prepress icon is highlighted. Enter a name and a location for the PDF file to be saved in. Click Create PDF.
